At the 25th Annual General Meeting of OBU held Friday 26 February 2016, the club elected Andrew Braddock as its new President. Andy is a current Life Member and has been with the club for more years than he wishes to reveal. A stalwart front row man of WCOB seniors, he was a long term Club Captain and continued in this role after amalgamation in 1992. Many thanks to Bryan Gundersen on his term as President, a job well done indeed and we can look forward to his continuing his good work with OBU in the years to come.
In other news, the club elected two new Vice Presidents, Conrad Smith and Alasdair McBeth. Conrad will be no stranger to OBU members, having finished his stellar All Black career with a second RWC win in 2015. Alasdair McBeth is anther long time OBU man, he was a Assistant Club Captain at the amalgamation and more recently has taken on the role of 100 Club Captain, an important fundraising vehcle for the club. Alasdair is a well known lawyer & is also the current President of Cricket Wellington. Congratulations to Alasdair & Conrad.
OBU also has a new Club Captain after Aaron Scott stood down this season. Maree Chivers moves from her role as Women’s Manager to take on the huge task of Club Captain after excellent work on the Executive in the past few years. She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award at last year’s prize giving and we look forward to her leadership this season. Remember, what she says goes.
