OBU Rugby are pleased to announce the appointment of Paddy Gough as General Manager Development OBU. Paddy will work closely with our current team and committee in developing strategy and ensuring its delivered on in a way that meets the mutual objectives of OBU Rugby Club and the OBU Foundation.
This new structure recognises recent changes implemented by the WRFU which requires the CDO role to be managed directly by clubs in the future, with a growing emphasis on community participation and development through rugby.
The General Manager role will take the strategic lead and ensure a planned approach to Club Management, Player Development, Coach Development, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic Relationship Management and Funding initiatives.
As well as his long term involvement in supporting various aspects of the clubs activities Paddy is well qualified for this important role through his organisational experience in developing strategic frameworks coupled with his World Rugby Level 3 coaching credentials and World Rugby Coach Educator certification. Having recently returned from a professional coaching role with a Japanese University we’re pleased Paddy has agreed to continue actively working in rugby in a way that will support others in driving OBU forward.
