Following a season of unparralled success in 2017 Wellington College Old Boys – Victoria University of Wellington RFC (“OBU”) are pleased to announce the reappointment of the premier coaching team for 2018.

Jamie Williams will continue as the Premier Head Coach after leading the club to the Swindale Shield and Jubilee cup double in 2017.  Jamie has made his mark in coaching in Wellington following his return from a long professional career including Harlequins and Bath in the UK Premiership, winning the Jubilee Cup as assistant coach in 2015 and as head coach this year.

Jamie will once again lead a strong team with returning assistant coaches Michael Barnes and Rua Tipoki.  Jamie will also welcome Greg Halford as assistant coach.  Greg had a distinguished playing career with NZ Colts, Hawkes Bay, Canterbury, Eastern Province (super rugby) and the Central Vikings and ws last involved with OBU in 2002-2003.

According to Chairman Jaesen Sumner “ït’s a pretty exciting mix and we are extremely happy to retain the high claibre coaching group that brought the club such success in 2017 and strenghten it with the addition of Greg. They’re all competitive guys with a good blend of innovation and experience. With the playing talent in the club continuing to build year on year I’m looking forward to what they can do in 2018”.

The coaching group will once again be supported by trainer – Richie Macdonald, manager Hayden Smith with eh ever present OBU Icon, Brad “Patches “ Houlahan.
