No official match report today but I can tell you that although the match-sheet says that all the scoring was done between numbers 1 to 10, it was far from 10 man rugby at Nairnvile Park today. There were 2 props tries and a pushover and that’s the kind of front row action that has the crowds begging for more.
In other results, the Impalas had a draw with HOBM out in the Hutt. The premier reserves won comfortably according to the scoreboard, but it felt like a harder game than that against Avalon as the Nairnville opener today. Colts Green and Back both had wins. It was a tough day for the Scallywags and the First grade didn’t get going today due to a lack of numbers.
In the Reserve Grade, there were 2 closely fought internal grading matches. the Pink Ginners took down the 69ers while the Righteous Bros ran out eventual winners against the Teddy Bears in what sounded like tight games for both matches.
Next week we hope to have our ace match reporter back in action with more in-depth commentary.
